Big changes at Speedpro!
As many of our customers know we have been looking for a replacement for our very talented Production Manager Andrea since January.
Andrea had some opportunities (like going to Africa to help children there) that she just could not pass up. And lets be honest Andrea is a hard act to follow.
We were determined to wait for the right person to come along. Little did we know that the person we were looking for was right under our nose.
Making signs is no more difficult than many jobs out there, but it can be an acquired taste. Imagine that you have to be a great juggler, as you are literally working on 10 jobs at the same time and managing all the many pieces that go into any on custom order.
Laura has been with us since October when she took over for the very popular Crystal. And Laura very quickly impressed with her leadership, self motivation and quickness to learn. She was hoping to learn more about sign making as we grew.
Laura is going to be our new production manager in training. So please welcome her with open arms, she can be a bit of a task master so watch out! Laura has been here since we started our Guaranteed Delivery Service so she knows how important it is to complete jobs in a timely manner AND she is really great at juggling.
SO now that Laura is moving from the front to the back, we are filling that chair with a new face.
She may be new and she may be young but she has tons of experience! Introducing Samantha Kudeba. Samantha comes to us via a couple of great sign shops in the city and has a strong background in design and customer service. One of the great things about Samantha is that she is very passionate about the sign industry, one of the most passionate we have met in some time. She has experience so she knows what she is talking abut and will be a valuable asset to the team.
Welcome Samantha and Congratulations Laura!

Speedpro Hiring a new Graphic Designer/Monkey
With sad hearts we must report our in house designer is moving to Calgary over Christmas. As much as we are happy for him and his family, and we know that he will still work for us on the side… we must get another butt in the seat here at the office.
See our ad on Kiji and if you know of someone please tell them apply. They dont have to be perfect, or even have gone to school… we are open to find the right person with the right attitude.

Someone has to say what we are all thinking….
Artist Jason Shelowitz in New York has decided to take manners into his own hands. Last Summer he make about 500 poster to talk to people about their lack of manners on the subway. He posted them all over the New York Subway.
Now he has taken on Pedestrian Etiquette. So he made some silk screened metal street signs. There are 4 different signs urging people to “Pull Up Your Pants”, Pay Attention while Walking” and Don’t Flick your Butts on the ground”.
Shelowitz is simply saying what most people are thinking and his efforts are gaining attention from around the world.
Take a Look at his work.
Does this look fun or what?
A local family owned store, The Bed Shoppe, wanted to spruce up their windows, promote the brands they sell and promote the fact that they have a fun culture.
Our designer pitched the idea of the feet and the matresses. We tried to talk them into a fun picture of the family, but that was a lot to ask. We thought the feet really made it look like there was a party going on inside.
We made sure the window graphics represented all their brands so that everyone knows the extensive lines they carry.
The decals were printed on a calendared vinly with a 5 year OverLaminate applied to make sure they don’t fade or peel. The feet were cut out by the machine so the lines were perfect. The install took abut 20 minutes per window including the cleaning etc (and there were 20+ windows). If you look below at the feature window, we highlighted that brand with a frame of white and the repeating of the logo at the top.

Digital Signs for your small business
Have you ever thought of having your own TV Station???? Next to the real thing, having a digital signage network can be almost as much fun.
you control everything about the display, and what it shows. Some companies advertise their own products (think Timmies) and some will sell the ad space and generate revenue (see BAM Media locally in Grande Prairie with 6 screens in health professional offices).
Digital Signage is catching on and it can be easier than ever.
